HANDLING LIFE REGRETS-EXPERIENCES DO SPEAK.

HOW TO HANDLE LIFE REGRETS:

“The past is a great place and I don’t want to erase it or to regret it, but I don’t want to be its prisoner either”- MIKE JAGGER.

We all have had regrets in our life and may be that we will continue to have them further in our ongoing life tenure.  We do come across people around us and even ourselves, that we carry regrets throughout and repent, or carry guilt for a long time. However some people who are egoistic in nature and seem to feel that they never go wrong, they never or hardly feel the regret. Such people have all the reasons to convince themselves and try to make happier situation around them, they are normally in the feeling of “Virtual Satisfaction”. These people obviously carry a bigger ‘guilt’ of their acts and reactions but show around to be satisfied. Acceptance to regrets and letting them free silently is an applauding & appreciable situation.

So let’s see what regret actually means? Well, ‘Regret is a self-directed emotional reaction. It can be a complicated feeling to process because it is multi pronged. It results into sorrow, disappointment , anger and guilt.

We should always be thoughtful towards the causes of regrets.

Some common causes of regrets can be listed:

1)      Not making amends. Sometimes we need to let go of ‘toxic people in our lives.

2)      Unaccomplished goals: Not all items of the bucket-list that you make can be fulfilled. Many people have fallen in the trap & have regrets of having not achieved their dreams. The matter of comparison, like I should have whatever he or she has is also an element leading tio 'regret'.

3)      Words left Unsaid: We are so often afraid to speak our minds,  to tell people how we feel or  to say. We carry a fear of something like relationship trash or a relation drift.

4)      Working ‘Too Much’: Now this has to be explained a little long. Keeping phones in our pockets means keeping yourselves available or accessible , making it difficult than ever to mentally clock out at the end of the day. Even if your job brings you genuine you-oh really does it?..And you tend to overwork yourself, at some point you will probably regret not having carved out  more free time to explore the other things you liked and loved to do.

5)      Worrying too much about what others feel: Everyone struggles with the self consciousness in a different way, and it takes a long time to overcome. Now, think really as to how much time do you actually spend in analyzing others and judging their decision? I don’t think you do it much, and they too are not much concerned on analyzing you a millionth as much as you are doing it to yourself is it not? So stop worrying about what others feel about you.

6)      Not following Own’s passion: In this workaholic society most of us are not encouraged to follow our passions. The workaholic society really believes that having a good conventional job routed 9 to 5, loving a spouse, adorable children and a large home. Remember doing what you love to do does not mean quitting your job or something like this. It simply means that you should at-least do something that you love to do, it’s that simple.

7)      Taking life too seriously: It is true that we carry stresses throughout our life some way or the other. See that you don’t ‘Sweat with little things and the stressors’ as they wont be so very big as you may have imagined to have been. So just see that you learn to laugh and keep yourself happy in stressful situations. The solution in this occasion would be achieved faster.

OVERCOMING REGRETS:  Overcoming regrets is an ideology that needs to be practiced or implemented in day to day life and workflow. Recognizing what bothers you the most about your past choices is the first step in embracing them as a catalyst for change.

Another important view to overcome regrets FOLLOW"IT'S NEVER TOO LATE" concept, you will come across so many entrepreneurs, celebrities, sportsmen & distinguished people who have switched their career paths in their later life. It means don't make yourself feel different or the first one for such situations.

Taking an action is one of the idea to overcome regrets. In case if, we are working in an mismatched career then it's important to switch at earlies. Many people assume and keep a mindset that they can never change their career. In case if your planning for a career change or shift then, a research is to be done, such as how credentials are required? How competitive is the industry? Is this career better in track or synchronism with your talents? Does the career support your values and ideas and styles?

The important aspect of 'regret' also relates with their ' finances' people tend to adjust their lifestyles to their income levels and spend accordingly. If you believe that saving was something you did with extra money, it didn't take too long to realize that the 'two words' did not generally belong together. In case if you have a feeling that you do not have enough savings is your biggest regrets, you are not the only one to be so. The remedy is to create a budget, and include savings as a mandatory expense.

Stepping out of Your Comfort Zone- Many times the life's biggest 'regrets' are the direct result of staying in your comfort zone. As the life's circumstances change, we at times dont really know how good we had it until we don't have it any more. That's an absolute to land in 'regret'.

Pursuing Hobbies: Try and imagine all your hobbies that you enjoyed and that now you would like to pursue all your hobbies now. Most of the people use their spare time in watching TV playing video games on their androids etc. However you spend time on a creative hobby like music, art & craft, writing or reading, thus utilizing time on such hobbies is obviously giving 'mental space', secondly this will also boost your skills as well isn't it?

In fact, with the big life's regrets will give us an opportunity to to provide us time for introspection & will give us valuable insights in order to become a human that you deserve to and the life that you want to live.

Dear friends, life has become more anxious during this Covid period, we all have an opportunity to overcome regrets and make a better destiny for ourselves.

I would appreciate your views and comments

Thanks a lot
