ABOUT SOCIO-TECHNICAL AND ITS SYSTEMS-(STS)

Now a days industries, organizations have not only said but have started strongly adopting "Socio-Technical -Systems (STS) for their betterment and development. Although this concept is not new but remained pretty silent for a long period. "STS" in fact is a typical approach towards recognizing and understanding the people and their interactions within and outside the organization (i.e.) the work places with the application of technology. It also gives an insight between the interaction of behavior and effects of "STS" over the work forces within and outside the organization. Thus "STS" helps in the development of an organization.

STS- is mainly related to the causes and effects therefore over the organizations. Speaking about the difference between the developing and developed organizations we need to notice as to how well the system is being followed. The developed organizations generally keep on updating their systems with the pace. However the developing organizations have to take lots of efforts to keep a track with people-technology-society. It is important to understand the "System".

SYSTEM-can be understood or known in many forms, but what "System" really which relates in STS -may be known to be as "A purposeful collection of inter-related ingredients of components working together for a common objective.

The 'Socio-Technical System" can be sequentially be set as:

Society----Organization----Business Processes-----Application Systems-----Communication & Data Management Systems------Operating System----Equipment.

Generally it is always expected that a system should be designed to last for many years, should be robust and should be compatible with the changing environment.

Today's technology cannot be imagined without 'Software'. The amount of software is increasing, the software general purpose electronics(hardware) has been replaced with the special purpose electronics. It is because of this we can have customized versions therefore. It is important to understand that many big projects have been delayed or remain pending due to the design of Software.

Let us take a recent example of "Demonetization" to understand a little of "STS":
The new two thousand rupee note was not being accessed by the existing ATMs therefore the ATMs needed calibrations (mechanical as well as electronic & software too). This took eventually a longer time for calibrations, which in-turn  affected the people in be banks(Bank employees), and affected the social environment for some period of time.  Thus the "SOCIO-TECHNICAL SYSTEM" has a substantial effect on everyone's life. Friends, I would like to write something more on STS and also express some important parameters later.

So Friends let's get along with new changes & trends.  Hope you  found this article interesting.

Have a wonderful Week-end.

SKILL &  RECOGNITION

We often talk about skills in people. In fact skill is an ability to to develop, and is not inborn, it is manifested in performance. Thus, ones skill-fullness is actually his effective action into a particular environment to create the best.  In Our country we have lot of potential diverse skilled human resource. in spite with lot of skills, majority of such a human resource has remained unrecognized.
Although there are many reasons for this, the main reason is ill-literacy and therefore exploitation. In current structure of globalization, things are changing rapidly, and there is a commendable rise therefore in the living standards of skilled human resource, and are also gaining recognition. Skills owed could be in several sectors such as, Arts & Craft, Science, Commerce,Technology, Communication, Administration, Sports, Medicine, Law etc. Each sector in some way or other is related to industry directly or indirectly. Most of these skills are known to us. Most of us posses some skill or the other in our sector.

If you have trade skills and experience but have never completed an apprenticeship or obtained formal qualifications then you are very likely to be exposed to exploitation by the commercial world around. Here you are recognized only by a limited group of people in the vicinity. However your recognition will not be allowed to flare for your skills especially by 'SMEs' if you are employed there. For a 'wider' recognition, you need to be strong in your own analysis and also need to be realistic to understand your commercial values towards your skills. It is also important to understand your potential risks & challenges as well. The wiser you are the better it would be for you.

For seeking your own establishment you will have many faces around you to tell you about your in-capabilities or in-competencies but you may very well consider them as your critics and improve yourself if so, however, you will find very few to inspire you and help you in your achievements. If you are a lucky goat you will be exempted from such trials. If not then your struggle for survival in commercial world has begun as you will be in dilemma and will start thinking whether to go ahead or not. Therefore to put yourself into your own recognition, you need to understand people, avoid the negative ones, and you should be very decisive and assertive over your own decisions. The scope to blame others will put you into lot of trouble.

Many skilled people have tried for their entrepreneurship and have succeeded. In India and around the world we find inspiring stories of success, but remember that they were also " Lucky Goats".
Recognizing skills within you is not a tough job, but to make it realize so to others it matters on how you explore and gear up yourself with the commerce of the existing world.

Thanks a lot friends- Have a wonderful week-end,

Together Everyone Achieves More-TEAM.

It's after a long time that my key board was missing my fingers!! - After a short rest...today my views on "TEAM"

All most all organizations believe that their long term survival is due to their inspiring 'team-spirit'.  In today's corporate style of working the team really need not be within the premise. In-fact, with the global nature of work, people across boundaries get well connected and establish a strong understanding and co-ordination among them and formulate a "TEAM." It is really surprising, that how an effective 'team' can be formulated without being into a physical environment. Is the 'Net or 'Mobile' technology like Skype, or 'Whats up' enough to generate professional intimacy? I would personally say 'Yes' because professional intimacies are virtual in nature and are meant to achieve organizational goals. As this benefits in totality people within the organization accept this and move ahead. Thus distance is also no longer a barrier for formulating 'Team'.

It is just not enough to have teams or generate more teams in the organizations, but is a matter of the spirit within the co-workers to achieve organizational goals. Obviously even devotion and dedication are the important to form an adorable team.

The features of a good team according to me can be as follows:
1) Commitment towards achievements.
2) Trust among team members.
3) Team members should share their perspectives with each other.
4) All the members in the team should be responsive and aware of each others work.
5) Team members should be accomodative with situations.

Team members should never have within a thought of bureaucracy which leads to loss of organization for their individual benefits. Such bureaucracies are hazardous not only to individuals in the team, but become a challenge to the survival of the organization.

Though high team spirit leads to the success of an organization, but Team spirit alone is unlikely to cause a group to succeed at whatever it is engaged in, but it might help when the fundamentals are in place (clear objectives, strong communication, leadership alignment and support, basic business fundamentals, etc.).
According to me "Team-Spirit" is a high level of alignment between people working together for the growth of an organization. Even according to Joseph Logan (A coach and Mentor for Teams) mentioned that 'Team spirit would be a sense of mutual respect and connection, presumably with a high level of trust and a sense of group purpose. That probably implies a high level of alignment about values."

Thanks a lot Friends!!- I keep on replying most of the mails, however I express my sincere apologies to you for the delay caused if any.
